About
Maile Ellis
I currently also work as a mental health nurse, and have been a nurse for 13 years. Before that I practiced Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine for over 10 years. I enjoy bringing holistic elements into my professional work, as well as into my personal life.

I have lived in Otepoti, Dunedin New Zealand for almost five years, moving here from the United States.

I was taught how to meditate from a young age, and have always been interested in exploring my inner world and making peace within myself. IFS brings a new way of looking at things, and I have found it to explain so many things that were a mystery before. There is a real elegance to the therapy, and I have seen it dramatically transform the way people look at themselves. Because of how much it has helped me gain insight and balance, I decided to become certified in it so I could help bring it to others.

Along with being very interested in inner and outer healing, I am a keen gardener, and love spending my free time in the garden. I also enjoy dancing, yoga, tramping, and spending time with my partner and two dogs. I think Dunedin is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been, and I feel very grateful to call it home.

How I work
I try to create a welcoming, safe space, free of judgement. My main focus is to remain curious and open about whatever might be coming up, and to gently explore it, never pushing someone to go somewhere they aren't ready to.

My specialty is IFS, which may not be suitable for everyone. IFS is not a quick fix therapy, and does require some time and patience to get the hang of it. Having said that, I do believe that it is one of the most powerful modalities out there for creating deep and lasting healing.

My ultimate goal is to give people the tools they need to be able to incorporate IFS into their daily lives, and to teach people how to speak to their parts without needing a guide.
